Get uKeep

Scan a business card. It's a contact in HubSpot.

The people you meet in person rarely make it into HubSpot. uKeep fixes that: scan their business card, add a note on where you met, and one tap makes it a contact, with your note on its timeline. No typing it in after the event, no lost cards.

Scanned
New Contact

How it works

Set up once. Then it's one tap per card.

  1. 1

    Scan the card

uKeep reads the name, company, title, email and phones. Add a note on where you met while it's fresh.

  2. 2

    Connect HubSpot, once

The first time you tap Send to HubSpot, log in on HubSpot's own page and allow uKeep. No admin setup beforehand.

  3. 3

    Send

Tap Send to HubSpot. It's a contact, with your note on its timeline, before you've put the card away.

Field mapping

From the card to the HubSpot record

You check the scan before saving, so what reaches HubSpot is what you approved.

Why teams use it

Built for the moment you meet someone

Your note goes with it

What you wrote about the conversation becomes a Note on the contact's timeline, so whoever follows up knows the context.

No duplicate contacts

If a contact already has that email, uKeep adds your note to it and leaves the rest of the record as it was.

One tap from the card

No exporting, no spreadsheets, no typing it in later. You choose which cards to send; nothing goes automatically.

Linked to the company

A new contact is associated with its company in HubSpot, which uKeep creates if it doesn't exist yet.

Disconnect any time

One tap in uKeep revokes its access and deletes it from our servers. The contacts you sent stay in HubSpot.

What uKeep can see in HubSpot

The short answer for your HubSpot admin. The details are in setting up uKeep for HubSpot.

  • You log in on HubSpot's own page. Your password never reaches uKeep.
  • uKeep asks HubSpot for access to contacts and companies, and nothing else: no deals, tickets, emails or marketing data.
  • It reads contacts only to find a matching email and companies only to find a matching name, creates the contact and its company, and adds your note. It never changes an existing contact's details.
  • The access HubSpot grants is stored encrypted on our servers, and revoked and deleted when you disconnect.

Questions

Before you connect

How do I scan business cards into HubSpot?

Scan a card in uKeep, add a note on where you met, and tap Send to HubSpot. The first time, uKeep asks you to log in to HubSpot and allow access; after that it's one tap per card.

What does a scanned card become in HubSpot?

A contact, with the name, company, job title, email, phone numbers, website and address read from the card, and its lifecycle stage set to Lead. Your newest note is added as a Note on the contact's timeline, and the contact is associated with its company.

What happens if the person is already in HubSpot?

If a contact has the same email, uKeep adds your note to that contact instead of creating a duplicate, and doesn't change anything else on the record. A card without an email always creates a new contact.

Do I need a HubSpot admin?

Not for a separate install: connecting from the app is the install. HubSpot only lets users with permission to install apps do it, though, so if you don't have that permission, ask whoever manages your HubSpot account.

Does every card go to HubSpot?

No. A card goes to HubSpot only when you tap Send to HubSpot on it. Everything else stays in uKeep.

Can I choose the lifecycle stage or the owner?

No. Every card is sent as a contact with the lifecycle stage Lead. You can assign an owner or change the stage in HubSpot afterwards.

Can I stop it later?

Yes. In uKeep, go to Profile and tap Disconnect next to HubSpot. Contacts already sent stay in HubSpot.
