CES 2027 runs January 6 to 9 in Las Vegas. It's organized by the Consumer Technology Association and spread across three campuses: the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), the Venetian Expo, and ARIA, home of the C Space program for advertising, entertainment, and content.
It's also a trade-only event. CES's registration guide says it's for people 18 or older who work in or with the consumer technology industry. It isn't open to the general public.
Registering: your business card counts
To register, you need to prove your connection to the industry. CES asks for one document showing your business affiliation and one confirming your employment, and the examples its registration guide lists include LinkedIn profiles and business cards.
Two things catch people out every year:
- Badges aren't mailed. You pick yours up in person at a badge pickup location before you go to a show venue, with a government-issued photo ID. Nobody can collect it for you.
- Register early. Registration for CES 2027 is already open, and so is hotel booking through the official housing agent.
Plan your days by campus, not by booth
With three campuses, the biggest waste of time at CES is crossing town between them. Group your meetings by location:
- LVCC is the largest venue, with four halls plus outdoor space, each organized around a set of industries.
- Venetian Expo hosts the Digital Health Summit and areas like smart home, food tech, lifestyle, and accessibility.
- ARIA is home to C Space, where the advertising, media, and entertainment crowd meets.
Keep each day to one or two campuses. The first and last hours of the day are usually the best time for a real conversation at a busy stand.
Getting between venues
CES publishes its transportation plan on its site. For 2027 it lists:
- Free shuttles from select official CES hotels to the LVCC and Venetian Expo, Tuesday, January 5 through Saturday, January 9
- Tech Express (Route 9) between the LVCC and Venetian Expo
- C Space Shuttle (Route 7) to ARIA from the LVCC and Venetian Expo, Wednesday to Friday
- Vegas Loop, linking the LVCC to several hotels for a small fare, plus a free LVCC Loop across the convention center campus
- The Monorail, which serves the LVCC and Strip hotels but not the Venetian Expo
Where the meetings happen
- Exhibitor stands. Most real conversations happen at booths you booked a slot with in advance. Walk-ups get the demo; scheduled meetings get the decision-maker.
- Eureka Park. CES's startup area. If you're scouting early-stage companies or looking for partners, this is where to spend a morning.
- Conference sessions and C Space. Arriving early and staying for the Q&A is the easiest way to meet the people who care about the same topic you do.
What to bring
- Business cards, lots of them. You'll hand them out at booths all week. And as noted above, one can help you register.
- Your photo ID for badge pickup.
- A battery pack and comfortable shoes. The LVCC alone is a lot of walking.
After CES: follow up before January fills up
CES is the first big event of the year, which means your contacts come home to full inboxes and fresh annual plans. The window for a follow-up that gets read is short.
- Scan cards every night in the hotel, and add which campus and booth you met them at.
- Tag everyone "CES 2027", then sort by what you promised: a demo, a deck, an intro.
- Follow up within the week. Our follow-up message templates are a good starting point, and what to do with business cards after a conference covers the nightly routine.
uKeep scans a business card into a complete contact in seconds, finds the person's LinkedIn for you, and lets you call, email, or WhatsApp them straight from the card. It helps when you come home from Las Vegas with a few hundred cards.
