LA Tech Week runs October 12-18, 2026, and it isn't one conference in one building. It's a week of independently hosted events spread across Los Angeles: panels, demo nights, breakfasts, hikes, and happy hours, all listed on one shared calendar. There's no single badge that gets you into everything. You build your own week, one RSVP at a time.
That format makes it one of the best networking weeks of the year, and one of the easiest to waste. Here's how to make the most of it.
How LA Tech Week works
- The official calendar is the source of truth. Every event is listed on the Tech Week LA calendar, with its own host, time, and location.
- You RSVP event by event. Many events have limited space, and some hosts review their guest lists. RSVP early for anything you really care about.
- It's spread out. Events happen all over LA, so travel time between neighborhoods is a real constraint. Plan around geography, not just the schedule.
Pick events like a networker, not a tourist
With this many options, the trap is filling every slot. A better approach:
- Choose three or four "anchor" events per day at most, grouped by neighborhood.
- Favor small formats. A 30-person breakfast gets you more real conversations than a 300-person party where you'll only talk to the people you came with.
- Go where your people are. If you sell to fintech teams, a fintech founders' dinner beats a general mixer every time.
- Leave gaps. The best conversations often happen after an event ends. Don't book yourself so tightly that you have to leave the moment it wraps.
What to bring
- Business cards, more than you think you need. Plenty of people still trade cards, especially at smaller events where no one scans badges.
- A charged phone and a battery pack. You'll be navigating, checking in, and saving contacts all day.
- A one-sentence intro. "I'm building X for Y" is easier to remember than your full story.
The part most people skip: following up
By Friday you'll have a stack of cards and a blur of conversations. The value of the week is decided in the next 48 hours.
- Scan cards each night, not at the end of the week. You'll still remember who said what.
- Add a note to each contact: which event it was and one thing you talked about.
- Tag everyone from the week (for example, "LA Tech Week 2026") so you can find them all at once later.
- Send short, specific follow-ups while the conversation is still fresh. Our follow-up message templates are a good starting point.
uKeep is built for exactly this: scan a card into a full contact in seconds, find the person's LinkedIn automatically, and message them on WhatsApp, email, or phone straight from the card.
