Web Summit Qatar 2027 runs from Sunday, January 31 to Wednesday, February 3 in Doha, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC). It's Web Summit's Middle East edition, run by the same team behind Web Summit in Lisbon, and focused on startups, investors, and the companies that work with them.
A Sunday start
Notice the days. Qatar's weekend is Friday and Saturday, so the event runs Sunday through Wednesday, a normal working week in the region. If you're flying in from Europe or the Americas, plan to arrive by Saturday. The first day is when people are freshest and calendars are still open.
Where the networking actually happens
- The startup program. Web Summit Qatar puts a lot of weight on startups, and featured startups show up throughout the program. If you're looking for early-stage companies, build a shortlist from the official site before you arrive.
- Investor tracks. The official site lists dedicated programs for investors, including venture and LP (limited partner) tracks. If you're raising money, this is the reason to go. If you're investing, it's the densest dealflow you'll get in the region in one week.
- Meetups. Topic-based sessions that are smaller than the main floor, and the easiest way to meet people in your field.
- Night Summit. The evening program, where conversations from the day continue somewhere more relaxed.
- The Web Summit app. Use it to find people and book meetings before the event. By the first morning, the calendars of the people you most want to meet are already filling up.
If you've been to Lisbon
The building blocks are familiar: meetups, Night Summit, the app, and a big startup presence. What changes is the location. Doha puts you in the same building as founders, investors, and companies from across the Gulf and the wider region. If your market is the Middle East, that is the reason to go to Qatar as well as Lisbon.
Business cards and WhatsApp in the Gulf
Cards are still a normal part of meeting someone in Qatar, so bring plenty. Many people will suggest WhatsApp rather than email for the next step. When someone gives you their number, save them as a contact straight away, with a note on what you discussed. That way you're not scrolling through unknown numbers on the flight home.
What to bring
- Business cards, plus a short intro that works for both investors and partners
- A battery pack. The app, maps, and messages drain your phone fast.
- One smart layer. Doha evenings in early February can be cooler than people expect, and venues are air-conditioned.
After Web Summit Qatar: follow up while it's still week one
The event ends on a Wednesday. That leaves Thursday, the last working day of the regional week, for your most important follow-ups, before the weekend and your flight home.
- Scan cards each evening and note where you met: startup stand, meetup, investor session, or Night Summit.
- Tag everyone "Web Summit Qatar 2027" so you can follow up in one pass.
- Reply on the channel they chose. If they gave you WhatsApp, use WhatsApp. Our follow-up message templates include a short WhatsApp version.
uKeep turns each card into a complete contact in seconds, finds the person's LinkedIn, and lets you message them on WhatsApp, email, or call straight from the card.
